October 11: This morning we'll meet at the airport for our flight to New York City, arriving in the late afternoon. We will transfer to our hotel near Times Square (the Courtyard Marriott) and check in. You'll have a free evening to become familiar with the area, stroll in Times Square, enjoy some dinner and see a Broadway show if you wish. Several shows are available. We'll send you a list of shows, most of which are within walking distance. Those not interested in a show tonight can go with their guide to the top of the Empire State Building. It's going to be a fun week.

October 12: Today we'll enjoy some highlights of New York City. In the morning, you'll have a choice. You can visit the State of Liberty/Ellis Island or you can walk the pedestrian level of the Brooklyn Bridge. We'll go to Battery Park and take a ferry to enjoy the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island, enjoying the history and setting of both. Those walking the bridge will have some time around Rockefeller Center with some fun 5th Avenue browsing before taking a subway (with your guide) to Brooklyn and stroll across this New York landmark. We'll all meet up and enjoy a brief walking tour seeing Wall Street, Trinity Church, Ground Zero and more. We'll then enjoy a stroll in Central Park (weather permitting) before resting at the hotel An early dinner is included tonight. Another opportunity for a show tonight for those interested. October 13: This morning we depart for the quiet countryside. Within an hour, we are in the heart of the Hudson River Valley which is full of history, beauty and charm. We'll make a picture stop at West Point (Military Academy) on our way to our lunch stop at the Culinary Institute. This may be the best meal you've had in a long time, prepared by those graduating from the most prestigious cooking institute in the county, served in elegant, theme settings. It is a highlight. After lunch we'll visit FDR's boyhood home in nearby Hyde Park (beautiful in the fall) and we;'ll see the famous Vanderbilt Estate on the Hudson River just five minutes from FDR's home. It is a beautiful setting. We'll stay in a lovely country inn tonight. L

October 14: About an hour from our hotel is the delightful town of Stockbridge in the fabled Berkshire Hills. We'll visit the Norman Rockwell Museum and spend some time seeing this renowned display of Americana. It contains the largest collection of Norman Rockwell paintings. Mr. Rockwell spent many years in Stockbridge. The museum is a highlight. We'll then travel scenic highway 20 though Springfield into Old Sturbridge. This is classic New England. Old homes, town church, tree covered streets and that "Old England" feel. We'll have a late lunch (about 2:30) at the historic Publick House which was established during the Revolutionary War. The history and the food (served in period costumes) are unforgettable. We'll take a late afternoon drive along scenic route 169 in northern Connecticut as we make our way in to our hotel. October 15: Welcome to Rhode Island! We're one hour from Newport, where we'll spend most of the morning. Newport has long been the favored vacation site of the rich and famous. A local guide will join us and show us the famous "Ten Mile Drive", which boasts exquisite estates from Newport's memorable "Gilded Age:. After lunch, you can go through The Elms, a palatial sea side estate in Newport. We'll then enjoy a one drive via Plymouth, Mass and along the cape to beautiful Hyannis Port we'll spend the evening. October 16: Today we'll enjoy a relaxing day on Cape Cod. We'll show you fun little towns and lighthouses from Hyannis to Provincetown. There is fun shopping, beautiful landscapes and fall is in the air. IN the late afternoon, we'll enjoy a 90 minute ferry ride from Provincetown to Boston. Dinner is included at one of Boston's fine restaurants. D
