Note:

When you go to Greece, you want to be sure you see the most important places. Greece is an incredible combination of classic antiquity, interesting scenery and some of the most beautiful islands in the world. This tour combines the most important places on mainland Greece with the sparkling islands for which Greece is famous.

We will also follow in the footsteps of Paul from the New Testament. Paul preached in the markets in Athens, and on Mars Hill (on the Acropolis). We’ll visit the interesting ruins of Biblical Corinth and speak of Paul’s experience there. Finally, we’ll spend half a day in Ephesus and see the 24,000 seat Roman Theater, the Agora where Paul preached and the stunning library which stands as a monument to this incredible city.  A visit to Ephesus is a day you’ll not soon forget. We then visit nearby Patmos (back in the Greek Isles) to see the cave where the book of Revelations was written by John.

On the cruise, we’ll also visit Mykonos and Santorini – the most famous of the Greek Isles – but we’ll also visit Rhodes. This may not be as familiar to you, but it is (in my opinion) the gem of the Greek Isles. We’ll visit the village of Lindos to see the Acropolis of Rhodes and the ruins perched atop the mountain with stunning views.

It’s a tour that features great variety, important history and fabulous memories.

And it is very reasonably priced! We hope you can join us.

Itinerary

October 20, 2025:

Today, we gather in Salt Lake (or other points of origin) to begin our exciting tour to explore the wonders of Greece and surround areas. October is a FABULOUS time to visit this region. We will arrive the following morning.

October 21:

We arrive in Athens mid morning today. Our local guide will meet us and take us into Athens. After a brief rest, we’ll begin to see the area this afternoon with a visit to the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Constitution Square and Panathenaic Stadium. We’ll also visit the Roman Temple of Olympian Zeus and begin to learn about ancient Athens. A welcome dinner is included tonight.

October 22:

Athens is simply one of the greatest historical cities in the world. While enjoying breakfast on the 11th floor of the hotel, you’ll have a fabulous view of the Acropolis. From the 8th century BC until their fall to the Romans in 146 BC, the world revolved around Greece. Those accomplishments are still visible and we’ll learn about this powerful empire today. We’ll begin with a morning visit to the world famous Acropolis with the beautifully preserved Parthenon. It’s setting on the hill overlooking the city is breathtaking. Mars Hill where Paul preached is just below the Parthenon. We’ll also spend time in the New Acropolis Museum, one of the best conceived museums in the world. In the late afternoon, we’ll drive outside the city (along the beautiful coast) to visit Cape Sounion. We’ll make a brief stop to see the remains of the Temple of Poseidon perched atop the small mountain overlooking the sea.  We then return to Athens and enjoy a delicious Greek-style dinner in a delightful local restaurant (in the quaint Plaka neighborhood).   B, D

October 23:

Today our coach takes us west into the famous Pelopennese Peninsula. We’ll stop at the Corinth Isthmus, a hand dug waterway connecting the Ionian and Agean seas. We then spend 90 minutes at Biblical Corinth. The site is well preserved and you’ll get a sense of life in the first century AD. It is very interesting place to see.  Late this afternoon, we’ll arrive in Olympia where we stay in a lovely hotel. B, D

October 24:

We are just five minutes from one of the most interesting places in Greece. This is the area that hosted the original Olympic Games, founded in the 8th century B.C. Its extensive ruins include athletic training areas, a stadium and temples dedicated to the gods Hera and Zeus. The site invites you in and tou can picture the games taking place here. This is where the Olympic Flame is first lit to begin the torch journey to the host cities. We’ll also visit the Archaeological Museum of Olympia exhibits finds from the site, including a statue of Hermes attributed to the sculptor Praxiteles. It’s a very interesting place to visit. Our afternoon drive takes us into the mountains near the town of Delphi. B, D

October 25:

Delphi is another day you will long remember. Set on a mountain side, this ancient site showcases a city that was prominent and important for MANY centuries. It is fascinating to learn about the “Oracle of Delhi” iand to see this place that was a pilgrimage destination for thousands. We’ll visit the Sanctuary of Apollo Pythios with Treasury of the Athenians, the Temple of Apollo and the Archaeological Museum containing such masterpieces of ancient Greek sculpture as the bronze Charioteer and the famous athlete Aghias. This afternoon, we drive north to Kamalbaka to be in position for another incredible place. B, D

October 26:

Wait until you see this place! Just 15 minutes from our hotel is an incredible site: It’s called Meteora. These are natural outcroppings of narrow, natural rock with the ageless Monasteries perched on top. The visual effect is quite stunning. We’ll ascend in our coach and be able to visit inside two of these Monasteries containing priceless historical & religious treasures high atop these narrow cliffs. It is one of the highlights of our journey.  We then return back to Athens in the afternoon staying again at the Tatania Hotel. B, D

October 27:

Today we transfer to the Lavrion Port to board our ship that will take us through the Greek Isles and into Turkey. Our cruise line is Celestyal Cruises and they are experts in this part of the world. The geography in this area is relatively small. These aren’t massive cruise liners covering braod geographies. They are smaller cruise ships that offer well organized sailings in the Agean Sea. Cabins are comfortable and there are great amenities on the ship. We sail at 1:00 today and arrive around 5:30 PM on the charming island of Mykonos which is best enjoyed in the evening. Wander the narrow streets with the white washed buildings. Watch the sunset from a restaurant of your choosing. We sail again at 11:00 this evening.

NOTE: All meals and entertainment are included on the ship. TIPS are also included in our price.

October 28

By 7:00 AM, we are in Kusadasi, Turkey. We’ll exit the ship and take a short drive to the ancient site of EPHASUS made famous by Paul in the New Testament. We’ll enjoy an included guided tour and rediscover why these events were so critical to the spread of Christianity. We’ll walk on the stone streets that Paul walked on. We’ll see the impressive library, agora (market where Paul preached), and the breathtaking theater with a capacity of 24,000 people. It is a morning you won’t soon forget. We sail this afternoon to the Island of Patmos where we’ll trace the steps of John the Revelator who spent time here. We’ll be in Patmos from 4:30 to 9:30 PM. We’ll visit the cave where John was to have written the revelations. We’ll see the fortress-like, 11th-century monastery dedicated to Saint John which overlooks the whitewashed houses of the hilltop capital. It’s an interesting place to visit.

October 29

Today we spend the day in Rhodes. We have an included excursion today that takes us about 45 minutes to the village of Lindos to see the Acropolis with its ancient ruins overlooking the Agean Sea. It is a stunning site. We then return back to the town of Rodes. Also known as the “Knights’ island”, Rhodes has a rich historical past, which you can tell by its historical buildings and monuments. The atmosphere in Rhodes Old Town is simply unique! Strong walls, stone-paved alleys, elegant mansions, and a medieval castle create the illusion that you have time-traveled back to the age of the knights. After a walking tour of the old town, you’ll have some free time to enjoy it.  Our ship departs  at 6:00 PM this evening.

October 30:

At 7:00 this morning, we’ll be in Heraklion, Greece where we’ll spend a few hours. This is a port city on the island of Crete. The city is known for the Palace of Knossos, just outside the city. The huge archaeological site dates back thousands of years to the Minoan civilization, and includes frescoes and baths. We’ll definitely have a look. The ship sails at noon and will be in the most famous of the Greek Isles at 4:00: Santorini. This is the gem of the entire area and we’ll have an evening to enjoy and explore. Santorini is built on the remains of a valcano which blew its top millenia ago, leaving a vretical cliff on which they have built the city. We’ll take the funicular to the top of the crater and you can enjoy this place as you wish. The views from everywhere are breathtaking.  Watch the sunset before returning to the ship.  We sail for Athens at 10:00 PM.

October 31:

We wake up in Athens today and transfer to the airport for our flights home. You’ll never forget your adventure to GREECE (with a bit or Turkey)! We look forward to being your hosts.
